Mercedes-AMG has chosen a name so deeply German that even its own Formula 1 drivers can't say it cleanly — which tells you something about who this car is actually for. Spezialanfertigung means 'special manufacture' in German, and the name itself is a statement of intent: this is not a car trying to appeal broadly, it's one leaning hard into a particular identity. Whether that's charming authenticity or deliberate obscurantism depends on your patience for brand theatre. Either way, the V8 under the bonnet is presumably easier to appreciate than the badge on the door.
